Barbara Brent serves as a HCBS TA Senior Analyst on the TA for HCBS & PASRR Programs Contract administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. She has extensive experience with LTSS at the state and local government levels, and more than 34 years of experience in publicly-funded systems for children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Key areas of expertise: I/DD program design; managed LTSS. Ms. Brent has worked in state and county governments, as well as in the private sector. She oversaw the state's acute/medical and long-term care service and support systems designed to help people live successful lives in their communities through a unique managed care system. She focused on community capacity building, the design and implementation of quality improvement, autism guidelines, and stakeholder engagement initiatives. Ms. Brent received her master's degree in special education with a specialty in community services for individuals with severe disabilities from Portland State University, and a Bachelor of Arts degree from University of Idaho with a secondary teaching certification.
